growing up

in between holiday, birthdays, ballet rehearsals, and a so far rainy summer we have noticed how much our little munchkins are growing up.
pat and i sit for hours sometimes just talking about them both.
all their funny little quirks, the cracking one liners they come out with and most of all how much joy they bring to ours and our families lives.

at the moment we feel like we are coming to the end of a chapter, with ruby set to start school in september, and eliza-grace starting nursery.
we are not really sure how we got here so quickly!
it just all goes too fast and as much as we have really enjoyed and relished every day so far, we are a little sad! our babies are growing up.

luckily i know that the next steps will bring so much joy too, and we look forward to that.
ruby is so ready and excited for school, and eliza for nursery but i have to say i will miss having them with me all the time. what will i do with all those spare hours???!!

dear little munchkins,
mummy and daddy love you so very much,
you bring an un believable amount of joy to our lives.
we love watching you becoming lovely little people, but we have a little lump in our throat for every milestone you cross and every inch you grow.........because frankly it all goes so fast. and although we know that there is so much  more to come we would both freeze this moment in time because your just so scrumptious darlings.

so this little post is for your beautiful faces!

love mumma and daddy!

  1. I didn't send my little girl to playschool/preschool/nursery or anything. I wanted to make the most of her, and I am so glad I did. People treated me like a total nutcase for not doing so, but each to their own, and my choice was to keep her home. Recently she said to me 'can we have a picnic like we did before? Before I went to school?'. I knew exactly which day she meant, it was the 22nd May 2010, she would have been a couple of weeks short of her 4th bd. When I hear her say things like that, and know that she has happy early memories, that makes me so happy!

I'm sharing this, because I think you are much the same as me.I loved having my girly with me, and am jittery with joy at the thought of school breaking up this week. I hear so many mums down the school moaning that they've got their child/ren home for the summer hols, and I just don't get it. What's not to like? You get your little pal with you, get to do fun stuff, or just snuggle on the sofa watching telly.

    Can. Not. Wait.

So enjoy your summer before school starts. Time goes by even quicker once they're in school.

    xx

    1. Hi sadie, Thank you for sharing. I know what you mean exactly...time is so so precious. I really love having my little pals with me it's so much fun.

I will miss Ruby so much when she is at school 5days a week, but I also know how much she will love it. It's a mixed bag of emotions. And as for Eliza it's more her choice to start nursery in sept (only 2mornings)....i would have waited a little longer, but she just wants to be like her sister! so we will see how that goes.

I think everyone is wired different! whenever anyone would question me on why I hadn't returned to work or why my girls weren't in nursery yet I would say...each to their own, i do what makes me the best, happiest mummy I can be! I think thats very important.

I'm looking forward to the next 6 weeks too...we have some fun things lined up!!
      Enjoy your summer too.
